Open today for upcoming events...

Hello everyone!

It's been a busy beginning of a new year here at Seams Sew Together. We've been getting ready for the Vermont Shop Hop which is coming up very quickly.

This year it is taking place Friday, March 1st through Saturday, March 30th. Passports can be purchased at any of the participating shops throughout the month, depending upon when and where you want to start your adventure! When you buy your passport, you get a half yard of fabric(priced $15 or under) at no charge. Join us and the 10 other shops for a fun-filled month here in Vermont; get inspired and see old friends and new along the way. The shops have all been working hard to prepare for this and we so appreciate your participation and business.

Beat the Winter Blues - Lilly Physical Therapy in Edmonds-Shoreline WA ...

If you earned a coupon in July from us, these are your last few days to use it. Several people have been putting it to good use and have saved themselves some money. You could too.  It could be buried in your summer purse or wallet somewhere. Go get it and put it in your winter purse/wallet! It expires at the end of the day this Thursday, Feb 29th.

3rd Wednesday Lives continue to happen on Facebook. The next one will be Wednesday, March 20th at 7pm and this is a link to the event.  If you respond you are going, you should get reminders that it is coming up.

We've been sharing mostly new products coming in to the shop, so often times you are seeing things before people coming into the shop do, ooh a sneak peak! That also gives you near first dibs on those limited quantity items. This is also a great time for us to interact with those of you who cannot make it into the shop or for you to interact with each other through the comments section. We try to create a good time for our quilting commnity and if you see something you'd like to purchase during the "show," we are happy to make it happen.

We have a few things scheduled for you that we are excited about...

Periodic Tuesdays, April 2nd through June 18th: Beginners Class

We are starting another round of classes for Beginners! In this class we discuss fabric, needles, thread, and tools. While constructing the nine patch and the monkey wrench blocks we focus on the 1/4" seam allowance, problem solve why blocks may not all be the same size and figure out how to correct it. We then focus on matching up seams while putting the center of the top together. Once that is done, students learn how to properly put borders on a quilt, learn to determine how much fabric is needed for backing, practice stitch in the ditch and simple quilting with feed-dogs up and get started on practice techniques to begin the free-motion quilting journey. Lastly, they learn how to determine how much fabric is needed for binding and then how to apply classic binding using Shelley's favorite joining technique.

This is a great class for students to get a lot of information that many of us pick up slowly over the years. If you know someone who wants to learn to make quilts or wants to learn more of the basics, please share the link https://www.seamssewtogether.com/module/class/460105/beginner-class with them.

Saturday, April 27th: Sunburst Quilt

This class will be instructed by Kathy Cray, who has moved back to the area recently. She has been involved in the study and collection of antique quilts since 1999 and is an active member of the American Quilt Study Group, Quilters Hall of Fame and the Cheshire Quilters' Guild. She has many accomplishments, most recently being published in AQSG Uncoverings, Vol 43. Kathy designed this pattern and will be teaching traditional piecing to put it together.

This class is full at this time, but if you are interested in it, we already have a list started of those interested in a repeat class. If we have enough people that go to the registration page, click add to cart, then add themselves to the wait list OR email us to let us know you're interested, we may be able to make a second session happen.

Saturday, May 11: Wyoming Stars Table Runner

This table runner, featuring the classic Wyoming Star block, is made with strips and the Creative Grids Half Square 4-in-1 Triangle Ruler. It uses two of the four ways to use the ruler and produces minimal waste. We have multiple other patterns that use this same ruler and who doesn't love being able to use their rulers for more than one project!?!?

You can register for class here.

Secret Garden Block-of-the-Month Quilt Pattern

Sundays, Beginning May 19th: Secret Garden Club

Join other advanced beginner quilters(and beyond) and make this gorgeous sampler Block of the Month quilt. We will meet monthly and piece this 80 x 92" sampler together. You can choose your own fabrics or purchase a kit we've put together with a wider variety of colors. This kit is broken up in monthly installments. Please email us if you'd like to purchase the kit.

Club information and registration here.

Sundays, Beginning June 9th: Inner Beauty Club

We have another really fun and simple Block of the Month club for you! This is great for confident beginners or experienced quilters who would appreciate making simple blocks with a stunning finished product. This uses pieced blocks to produce the Trip Around the World appearance. Learn more and register here.

You may choose your own fabrics or purchase a kit for which we have waited months to find just the right fabric.

If you are a member of the club, we can set up a payment plan with you for the kit. If you decide to do that, don't purchase through the websit, but email us asap as there are only 3 kits available and we want to get you set up before they are gone. We will reserve that kit as soon as we see your email.

As we are able to add other classes, we will update our website and include them in further newsletters. We have had people miss out on spots in our classes by not acting quickly. If you see something you like, register early because we have limited seating and limited nuimber of kits, if you prefer those.

We've had a really fun start to our classes this year and hope to continue to introduce quilters to each other, forming new friendships and creating a fun and happy atmosphere to relax and enjoy some creative time together.

Looking forward to seeing you in the shop or on our Facebook Lives if you can't come to Vermont.
